Lightweight  fire clay brick is a kind of high temperature adiabatic refractory. It is made from refractory clay clinker, with plastic clay as the binding agent.Lightweight clay bricks are used as insulation materials for the thermal insulation of gas producer furnaces.The temperature in the 1200-1400 ℃.Ingredients are mixed with water made of plastic material or mud, mud with extrusion or pouring shape, 1250-1350 ℃ after dry burning oxidation atmosphere.The volume density of commonly used clay bricks is between 0.75 and 1.2g/cm3. In reality, the proportion of light clay insulation bricks is more than 1.0.

Lightweight clay bricks refer to lightweight insulation bricks with an Al2O3 content of 30%-46%.Clay clinker or light clinker and plastic clay are the main principles, usually produced by combustible method, or by chemical or foam method to form porous structure.

Therefore, less heat can be lost to ensure the furnace wall, and the cost of fuel will be reduced accordingly. Lightweight clay bricks also mean less heat storage. Therefore, both temperature rise and cooling are faster, allowing faster periodic operation.Light clay brick is suitable for the 900 ℃ ~ 1650 ℃ temperature range.

Lightweight clay bricks have the following characteristics:

1. High thermal compressive strength;

2. Low thermal conductivity, with good thermal insulation and thermal insulation effect;

3. Can be processed into special shape.To reduce the number of bricks and joints;

4. Low heat fusion, as a result of low heat conductivity, mullite series of lightweight heat insulation bricks store little heat energy, and have obvious energy-saving effect in intermittent operation;

5. High refractoriness and high aluminum content enable it to maintain good performance in reducing atmosphere;

6. Accurate appearance size, accelerated masonry speed, reduced use of refractory mud, ensured the strength and stability of masonry, and thus extended the lining life.
